DERDIAN: La loro musica è il risultato della fusione tra orchestrazioni sinfoniche e potenti riff di chitarra ritmica e batteria che danno alla band una identità unica nel suo genere. Dopo due demo: "Revenge" (2001) e "Incitement (2003), nel 2004 la band firma il suo primo contratto discografico con la Steelheart Records e registra il debut album: "New Era pt.1".Nel 2006 i Derdian vengono contattati dalla prestigiosa etichetta americana Magna Carta, che dopo essere stata attirata dall'elevato numero di Fans accumulati sul Social Network del momento Myspace propone loro un contratto per due album: "New Era pt.2- War of the Gods" e "New Era pt.3- The Apocalypse". Nel 2013 la band si separa dal cantante Joe Caggianelli, sostituito da Ivan Giannini, e decide di accantonare il genere fantasy e occuparsi di tematiche più reali e attuali della società umana e "Limbo" è il risultato di questo nuovo approccio e ottiene un così ampio successo internazionale da guadagnarsi un contratto di distribuzione in oriente con la Giapponese Spiritual Beast.
Nel 2014 la band pubblica il suo quinto studio-album "Human Reset" anch'esso distribuito in Giappone dalla Spiritual Beast. Nel 2015, dopo aver partecipato ad alcuni festival internazionali del calibro dell'italiano Total Metal Festival e del Made of Metal in Repubblica Ceca, la band si separa temporaneamente dal cantante Ivan Giannini e inizia a lavorare al suo primo Greatest hits intitolato Revolution Era che racchiude i migliori pezzi della New Era Saga completamente ri-arrangiati e ri-registrati più un inedito e vede la partecipazione di artisti di rilievo internazionale come Ralf Scheepers, Fabio Lione, DC Cooper, GL Perotti, Terence Holler e molti altri. Il disco, che esce nell'estate del 2016 e viene nuovamente distribuito in Giappone da Spiritual Beast, pur non essendo un album di inediti riscuote un discreto successo. Nel 2017 Ivan rientra nella Band in occasione della prima tourneè in Giappone a cui ne seguirà una seconda a Settembre 2018 dopo l'uscita del nuovo album "DNA" prevista a Luglio 2018.
Nell'estate del 2019 i Derdian vanno in tour in Giappone per la terza volta di fila. Nel febbraio 2020, dopo l'ultimo concerto tenutosi a Milano, la band è costretta a interrompere la sua attività live per due anni. Approfitta di questo periodo per scrivere il nuovo album: New Era pt.4 - Resurgence, ambizioso progetto volto a continuare la saga dei primi tre album. Il 20 Ottobre 2023 l’attesa è finita. L’album è stato pubblicato per la King Records in Giappone e autoprodotto nel resto del mondo come ormai da fiera tradizione della band. Tra il 2023 e il 2024 la band è impegnata in una intensa attività live in Italia e all'estero che la porta a calcare anche palchi importanti come quello del Live di Trezzo in occasione della ormai celebre Adunata di Feudalesimo e Libertà e quello del Luppolo in Rock sfociando poi nella quarta tournèe giapponese prevista per metà ottobre 2024 in occasione del noto Evoken Fest.
Biography
DERDIAN is a Symphonic Power Metal band born in 1998 in Milan. Proudly self produced, self distributed and independent. Their music is a fusion between symphonic orchestrations and thrash metal riffs with powerful speed drumming and unique easy listening catchy melodies.In 2004 after two demos: "Revenge" (2001) and "Incitement" (2003) the band signed the first record deal for Steelheart records and published the debut album called “New Era pt.1". In short the album became a little jewel among the power metal fanatics: 100.000 followers on the old myspace witnessed the popularity of the band. The raising weight around the web got the attention of the prog american major label Magna Charta and in 2006 Derdian signed for 2 album "New Era pt.2- War of the Gods" and "New Era pt.3- The Apocalypse". The fame in the powermetal world scene got huge, especially in latin America, Asia and East Europe but the american label didn’t give any kind of support to the band so in 2013 Derdian splitted from Magna Charta choosing to be independent.
In 2013, after 3 fantasy albums, the band breakup with the former singer Joe Caggianelli and hired a quite famous italian youtuber Ivan Giannini releasing its 4th full length called Limbo. A different voice and a heavier thrashy sound with lyrics about modern society neurosis marked the new path to follow. The result of this new approach was great worldwide sellings and a brand new major distribution deal for Asia with the Japanese label Spiritual Beast.
In 2015 the band released the world claimed album Human Reset, top power metal Album of the year in many magazines (Metal hammer above all) and powermetal webzines and top selling metal album on Amazon Spain for several months.
After participating at some international festivals such the Italian Total Metal Festival and the Made of Metal in the Czech Republic, the band temporary splitted with the singer Ivan Giannini, busy in the pop tv show The voice of Italy. Meantime the first greatest hits called "Revolution Era" was released with the participation of internationally renowned artists as Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Fabio Lione(Rhapsody of fire, Angra), DC Cooper(Royal Hunt), GL Perotti (Extrema), Terence Holler (Eldritch) and many others. The album came out on June 2016.
On 2017 Ivan came back and on september the band successfully toured Japan, supporting Nuclear Blast bands as Freedom Call and Twilight force. On september 2018 Derdian toured Japan again. The 7th album "DNA" has been released On July 2018.
On summer 2019 Derdian toured Japan for the third time in a row. On February 2020, after the last concert held in Milan, the band is forced to interrupt its live activity for two years. Take advantage of this time to write the new album: New Era pt.4 - Resurgence, an ambitious project aimed at continuing the saga of the first three albums. On October 20, 2023 the wait is over. The album was released for King Records in Japan and self-produced in the rest of the world following the band's proud tradition. Between 2023 and 2024 the band is engaged in an intense live activity in Italy and abroad which brings to also tread stages as important as Live Club in Trezzo sull'Adda in the famous Adunata Fest of Feudalesimo e Libertà and Luppolo in Rock leading to the fourth Japanese tour scheduled for mid-October 2024 guests of the well-known Evoken Fest.
